What Did Kaos GL Do Between 1998 and 2002?
KAOS GL is a group founded in September 1994 with the purpose of bringing Turkey's homosexuals together to struggle against discrimination. The group's underlying philosophy is that liberation of homosexuals will also free heterosexuals. KAOS GL has been publishing the journal KAOS GL (now a quarterly) since it was founded. The group owns the KAOS CULTURAL CENTER in which many cultural activities, meetings and film shows are held. Also, the first LGBT library is built in this center. In this article you will find information about what Kaos GL has done between 1998 and 2002.

Symposium: April 18, 1998
We suggested the conversation named “Homosexuality and Society-Prejudices and Realities...” at the “Workshop Arts Center” as Kaos GL and two of our friends participated as speakers.
Symposium: May 4, 1998
A lesbian and a gay friend of us participated as speakers in the conversation “Homosexuality and Society” which is organized by METU International Youth Organization.
Kaos GL 1999 Activities:
Dinner: January 31, 1999
“Kaos GL Friendship and Solidarity Dinner” was organized.
Desk: March 17-21, 1999
We showed and gave out Kaos GL Journals, Kaos GL Handouts and Lambda Istanbul AIDS booklets at the Hacettepe University Fighting against AIDS Community desk in the Healthy Life Fair at Ataturk Cultural Center.

A conversation about “Homosexuality” was held with Hacettepe University Fighting against AIDS Community at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine.
Dinner: November 17, 1999
The second Kaos GL Friendship and Solidarity Meal was organized.
Convention: October 26-28, 1999
Kaos GL was officially invited to and participated in the 3. Sexual Problems and Healing Convention held in Istanbul by Sexual Education, Therapy and Research Center and Cognitive and Behavior Therapies Center. On 28 October, Kaos GL representative, Dr. Sinan Duzyurek, Allen Lawrence and Psychologist Ayse Kayhan participated as speakers in the forum, directed by Dr. Nesrin Yetkin, named “Homosexuality”
